Ogbunike (Oyi LGA), June 11, 2018 (MOI) An Igbo socio-political group, ``Igboezue International’’, has honoured an APGA chieftain, Chief Ekene Enefe with a`Merit Award’.
Chief Enefe hails from Ogbunike, one of the communities that make up Oyi LGA, Anambra State.
Speaking while presenting the award to Chief Enefe at his compound, Osile Village, Ogbunike, the National President, Igboezue International, Chief Pius Uchenna Okoye observed that the organisation was one of the respected Igbo’s bodies.
He explained: ``the organisation does not just confer awards on individuals but has a high credible selection process’’.
Chief Okoye said that the organisation has strict rules on conferment of awards as they did not accept monetary inducement that could taint awards.
He noted that those previously honoured would attest to the credibility of such exercises and urged Chief Enefe to maintain the tempo by being a good ambassador of the organisation.
He appealed to him to continue his good works.
``Be committed to the service of mankind by providing employment to youths, as well as award of scholarship to indigent people in society,’’ said Okoye.
In his response, Chief Enefe, said he was highly elated at recognition by one of the foremost Igbo bodies for his little contributions to society.
He stressed that the award would
spur him to do more. (MOI)
